At best registry cleaner dot com, we have rated registry cleaners by the actual performance they have given us at our computer repair shop. There is no substitution for hands-on experience and we have used over 50 different registry cleaners over the last 3 1/2 years! However, there is one registry cleaner that we have used time and time again and have never had any problem with it. For us, it has been nothing short of a miracle worker! Because a computer will run very slowly and exhibit errors when its registry is in need of repair, a computer with a registry in such condition can act like it is on its last legs. When we have used our favorite registry cleaner on this type of computer we’ve seen complete resurrections.

The registry cleaner we are talking about is RegCure. We have rated RegCure number one for over two years now. Aside from the performance this software gives, their company support is also unparalleled. This is very important to us because we have some customers whose relationships we hold very dearn and we wouldn’t want to recommend they use a product that didn’t have a strong company support system. When we recommend these customers use RegCure, we can rest easily.

About the only thing we’ve seen with RegCure that is a slight drawback it is it is not certified for Windows XP 64-bit or Windows Vista 64-bit. It is however, certified for Windows XP 32-bit and Windows Vista 32-bit. With XP and Vista, 32-bit is a far more common operating system than their 64-bit counterparts. So, the drawback is not that significant. RegCure is certified for Windows 7 both 32 and 64 bit. So it is right up to date as far as this is concerned.

Why We Need to use Registry Cleaners

Wasting time is a key issue with Windows driven PC’s.  From the day they are first used, they tend to slow down.  This is due to the fact extra registry entries, or egistry corruption, tends to build up and is it does it causes the computer to waste more and more time performing unproductive operations.

How to Clean the Registry

Cleaning a registry by entering the registry via software programs such “regedit” and removing foreign entries is simply not practical.  However, a registry cleaner, also known as a registry fixer or registry repair program will take care of the job cleaning corrupt entries out of the registry.  It will do so seamlessly and quickly.  This will keep, or even restore a computer’s speed to original speed if there are no other problems with the computer..

Of course, viruses and spyware will also tend to slow down a computer.  Added software and hardware will also tend to slow down computer speed, but not that much if the proper amount of RAM is kept on board.   It should aso be noted registry corruption can also cause a computer to pop up error messages as well freeze and/or crash.

If you have a virus/spyware scanner installed on your computer and you are running at least the recommended amount of RAM, it is very likely a computer running slowly needs to have its registry cleaned.

Fix a Corrupt Registry

A Windows based operating system has a hierarchal data base.  It is this data base that is known as the registry. Data about anything the operating system has to work with, either internally or externally is contained in the registry.  Windows has to have access to a good clean registry to do even the smallest job.

Computers and the software that runs on them need to be told exactly what to do.  A sort of miscommunication can happen when bits of non-conforming data called registry corruption interfere inside the registry. The aftermath is information that moves more slowly inside the computer’s software. 

Worse yet, these unneeded bits often lead the central processing unit to look for information that just isn’t there.  This means it has to backtrack and keep looking until it discovers the information it really requires.  Needless to say, this step will make your computer take a lot longer to complete its operations. On top of that, when the operating system has to be constantly backing up to find the correct registry data, the computer will have a tendency to have errors, crashes and/or freeze-ups.

Employing the services of registry cleaning programs will most times end these problems because it cleans the corruption out of the registry allowing the free flow of information to resume.

Registry cleaning type software products are also known as registry cleaners and if you haven’t tried one until now to fix problems, such as a slow computer or a computer that crashes, it is probably a good time to get a free scan with one to find out if it is indeed registry corruption behind the mysterious actions of your PC.

 A good registry cleaning program will scan through the Windows registry looking for and finding bits of registry corruption.  When it finds this bad data, the cleaner will erase it from the registry altogether.  This is necessary because it is these bad bits of misinformation that has been slowing down your computer and possibly even causing freeze-ups, errors and crashes.   .

Once this corruption is no longer getting in the way of the computer’s internal information flow, it will return to running the way it did before all the corruption started to accumulate.

Registry Cleaning Programs

If it’s up to you to seek a solution, you may think you’re in over your head before you even start. So before tossing your computer out the nearest window, pause for a moment. The solution to your problem might not be all that daunting after all.

Eliminate the Easy Possibilities

To implement a slow computer fix requires troubleshooting to locate the source of the problem. Have you a lot of applications open? Are you running the minimum amount of memory called for by the software applications you use? Have you downloaded files from a website that could have planted a virus deep inside the operating system?

If you have concluded nothing out of the ordinary has been done to the PC, and you’re pretty sure this computer slowness just kind of crept up on you, it is time to take a look at the Windows registry. The registry is a very important part of Windows because the OS visits the registry to get needed information for every operation it performs.

Registry Problems are Prevalent in PC’s Today

Hardware problems are not nearly as common as Windows registry problems, so checking out the registry is just logical.  Yes, if it is possible your hard drive is full you should take a look into that because a full hard drive leaves no room for swap files and this will slow a computer down substantially.  You can see how much space is left on your drive by clicking the start button, then computer (or My Computer) and simply taking a look.

Still, a registry that has accumulated inaccurate bits of information is much more likely to be the culprit when a computer has lost its speed.  This because the registry is in the middle of all your operating system’s processes. 

 The Registry is a Director

 A computer and anything that is installed on it, needs exact directions about what it should do. A kind of miscommunication can occur when bits of non-conforming data crash the registry’s party. The consequence is information that moves more slowly from place to place inside the PC. 

 A registry can be likened to a policeman directing heavy traffic.  The traffic the registry is directing is between the computer’s software and its hardware.  If the policeman does an inadequate job, traffic will stop.  If he/she performs a dreadful job, there will be an accident.  The faulty signals the cop may be flashing can be compared to incorrect bits of information in the registry.

 In some cases, bad bits of information make the operating system perform operations that are totally useless.  Even worse, the OS must do these operations several times before it times out and moves on.  You can see how this will make a computer seem as if it is actually very slow.

When a meaningful measure of useless or unwanted data assembles inside the registry, the computer’s functioning will be impaired.  If a good registry cleaner is employed, this kind of bad data will be wiped out.  This will permit the operating system to operate without restraint and so the PC will have the ability to accomplish its undertakings in a speedy manner.

My Computer is Slow, Why?

I say usually because the run box does not show up in the start menu of Windows Vista by default.  So, here is how to put the Run box in the Vista start menu:

1. Click Start and then Control Panel
2. Double Click the icon that says “Taskbar and Start Menu
3. The Taskbar and start menu properties box opens up
4. Click the tab on the top that says Start Menu
5. Click the button to the left that says “Customize”
6. Scroll down until you see “Run command”
7. Click to put a check mark in the box to the left of “Run command”
8. Click OK at the bottom of the Customize box
9. Click OK at the bottom of the  Taskbar and start menu properties box
10. Click start and notice the Run command is now in the right hand coulomb of the start menu
11. Click “Run…” and you will see the run box opened up

However, and this is a big however; there is a reason Microsoft is trying to make it difficult to use the run box.  The main reason is so we don’t use “Regedit!”  The Regedit program lays out the whole registry right before us.  This makes it possible to to enter anything into our registries or delete anything from them. 

The wrong entry made or an important one deleted from our registry could spell disaster!  In other words, one little tiny mistake could made while using Regedit could cause the operating system to lock up altogether and render our computer useless until we reformat the hard drive and re-install an operating system on it.

The bottom line is don’t fool around with Regedit.  there is no reason to.  There may be a reason why a Microsoft Certified Engineer might want to play around in Regedit but there is no reason we should.  Anything you can do in Regedit you can do in the Control Panel; like put the run command in the start menu, for instance.  Or, change screen colors and users, etc.

If there is something wrong with the registry, just use a registry cleaner, that’s all.   A registry cleaner will take care of any registry problem you may have and it will keep your PC fast and free of errors and crashes.

Edit Registry Software

Such programs always came installed on Windows operating system but there were other third party programs claiming to do the same thing only better.  These programs cleaned the hard drive, but not the registry.

Windows registry cleanup software or registry cleaning software scans the Windows operating system’s registry locating incidents of missing and corrupt registry files as it does.  Once it locates this “registry corruption,” it repairs and replaces all the problem files.

It is noteworthy all Windows operating systems have registries, even the very early ones and yes, Windows 7 has a registry as well.  It is also noteworthy that there many registry cleaners around these days that are not at all helpful and may actually even be dangerous to your computer!   However, using a good registry cleaner is necessary simply because keeping corruption out your computer’s registry is necessary.  Here is why:

Registry corruption will cause a computer to slow down,  There are occasions where this corruption will slow the computer down to such a degree it will be impossible or next to impossible to use.  Registry corruption will also sometimes, cause computer errors and on some occasions will make a computer freeze up or crash altogether.

So, for the small expense a registry cleanup program incurs, it is well worth it to use one to prevent these things from happening  and repair the damage that has already been done.  Repairing this damage will get your computer back to its top speed and put an end to the errors, crashes and etc. 

The point is only a good registry cleaner will do the job right.  There are those on the market that will not.  So, only buy the best.  Frankly, out of the multitude of registry cleaning software programs available today, there are only a few I would trust!

The good news is; you can relax if your computer is free of registry corruption because since most computers already have spyware and virus protection installed on them, you can be sure your PC will be at its best when you have a registry cleaner working along side your spyware/virus protection!

Of course, if you don’t have virus/spyware protection for some reason, that changes he scenario.  A virus or spyware will steal your computers resources and cause your computer to slow down and and operate poorly in a wide variety of ways.

Windows Cleanup Software

Cleaning a registry manually involves using the Windows built-in  software program, “regedit.”  Regedit can be entered
 by through “start-run” and entering regedit in the run box.

The bad news is when registries were repaired in this way, many times there was more harm than good done.  Bear in mind, harm to a Windows registry could mean the end of the operating system altogether!

The advantages to using a commercial registry cleaner over using regedit are too numerous to mention.  For sure, the biggest advantages are:

1. A registry with hundreds of incidents of corruption will be repaired by a registry cleaner in a few minutes, whereas it would take hours to clean two or three incidents using regedit.
2. If you use one of the more dependable registry cleaners you hve no worry whatsoever of destroying your registry.  If you try to clean it manually, you better be very careful  because cleaning the registry this way has spelled the demise of many computers!

Clean System Registry

Windows registries need to be cleaned and repaired periodically because of the tendency a Windows registry has toward building problem with files that become  ”corrupt.”  Registry corruption simply refers to registry files that are missing, incomplete or inaccurate.

The affect registry corruption has is it will make a computer operates very slowly or cause computer errors to pop up.  Using a registry cleaner will restore the computer’s speed and put an end errors.

Registry Clean Repair

Sometimes you will find a registry cleaner that gives you no indication of which OS’s their program is designed for.  Actually, this is good.  These registry cleaners can take care of just about all registries.  If they can’t service the your operating system’s registry a popup message will tell you soon as soon as you start your initial free scan.  This would be unusual though because advanced software such as this will be able to clean all but the most unusual registries.

For instance, I am running Windows Vista on a 64 bit system.  A 64 bit system is not very common and a lot of registry cleaners, even the some of the most popular ones stipulate they will clean Windows Vista 32 bit systems.  Not stipulating 64 bit means they are
unable to work on that registry.

In any event, I wanted to try out and review a new registry cleaner that had made no indication on their page of which registries their product did or did not work on.  So, I tried it with my 64 bit system and it worked beautifully!  So, impressed was I with its performance, the company behind it and  its extra features, I have made it my most highly recommended registry cleaner!

As far as Windows XP registry cleaners go.  I don’t believe there are any programs around today that are not compatible with Windows XP.  Let’s face it; if they were not upgraded to XP ready yet, they would be so far behind the times they could not possibly have survived until now.

Yes, there still are some programs around not yet ready for Vista, but I no of none not ready for XP.  Most registry cleaners are compatible with both XP and Windows Vista.

Windows XP Registry Cleaners

Using a top notch registry fixer will take care of this problem.  It will do so by taking away the impediments that have been slowing your computer down.  we are taking of course, about the impediment known as registry corruption.  Registry corruption can also will cause a computer to start popping up computer errors.  Since it is no fun to have your computer stop in the middle of operations, it is very beneficial to have your computer’s registry free of corruption.

Best Registry Fixer

There are registry cleaners who call themselves free registry cleaners.  While these programs are not truly free because they only clean a certain number of incidents of registry corruption without cost, they are also not safe.

Thee are probably 100′s of registry cleaners available today but there is only one registry cleaner I consistently recommend to my customers.  There are really only 7 or 8 of them I trust at all. 

Remember, a computer registry is a very complex and delicate piece of software.  When choosing which registry cleaner to trust your registry’s health to, make sure it is safe and that is a top ranked registry cleaner. If it is you can rest assured it will do the job thoroughly and efficiently.

Safe Registry Cleaner

However, there is more to it than just that.  When a driver or software program is upgraded, technically the old one is
removed.  So, once again corruption would be left in the registry.

Then, there is this problem; spyware, viruses, adware and all this kind of stuff are software programs which are technically known as malware.  Malware is a contraction for malicious-software.  So, when any malware is removed from a computer, it will leave registry corruption behind.

This creates a quandry because we don’t want to create a corrupted registry but we simply must remove malware when any is found.  So, all we can do is continue running virus and spyware cleaners at regular intravals and also run a good registry cleaner periodically.

Corrupted Registry

One, he or she is using a free registry scan to see if there is corruption in the registry before purchasing the registry cleaner or,

Two, he or she is using a so called, free registry cleaning program which gives the user a scan and then removes a certain amount of corruption before he or she needs to pay to get the rest of the registry repaired.

Three things should be known about free registry cleaners…

1. They usually remove up to 50 incidents of corruption, which is very little before they require payment to keep them activated.
2. The price to activate them is higher than most top rated registry cleaners and,
3. From my experience at least, they are inferior registry cleaners.

So really, there is no true free registry cleaner.  You will have to pay eventually, for either an inferior one or a top ranked one!

All ligitimate highly rated registry cleaners offer a free scan to detect corruption so a potential customer can see if a purchase is warrented.

Registry Cleaner Trial

Bear in mind instruction sets commonly consist of millions of instructions.  Sometimes repetitive instructions make up nearly 70% of instructions sets.  So, if 70% of an instruction set can be carried out more quickly than it previously would have, the computer will be faster.

A registry optimizing operation should only be performed on a corruption free registry.  This is why registry optimizers are commonly part of a registry cleaner software package.

Windows XP ad Vista registries are made up of 5 sections, which can think of as main folders, called hives.  These main folders are loaded with instructions the OS goes through sort of like a Saturday morning grocery shopper goes through a shopping list.  When some of the files carry instruction sets that are useless or inaccurate, it is said that the operating system has registry corruption.

This means  many registry cleaners are capable of scanning and repairing most Windows platforms.
