At best registry cleaner dot com, we have rated registry cleaners by the actual performance they have given us at our computer repair shop. There is no substitution for hands-on experience and we have used over 50 different registry cleaners over the last 3 1/2 years! So, we have an idea which ones rank the highest and which ones we could not possibly recommend.

In some circles, registry cleaners do not have a good reputation. It is my opinion that this is because of some of the free, cheap and just plain subpar performing programs that are around. These registry cleaning software programs give the good ones a bad reputation because as the saying goes, “one bad apple spoils the old bunch.” It is true, a bad registry cleaner can cause more harm than help it could possibly give you.

However, there is one registry cleaner that we have used time and time again and have never had any problem with it. For us, it has been nothing short of a miracle worker! Because a computer will run very slowly and exhibit errors when its registry is in need of repair, a computer with a registry in such condition can act like it is on its last legs. When we have used our favorite registry cleaner on this type of computer we’ve seen complete resurrections.

The registry cleaner we are talking about is RegCure. We have rated RegCure number one for over two years now. Aside from the performance this software gives, their company support is also unparalleled. This is very important to us because we have some customers whose relationships we hold very dearn and we wouldn’t want to recommend they use a product that didn’t have a strong company support system. When we recommend these customers use RegCure, we can rest easily.

About the only thing we’ve seen with RegCure that is a slight drawback it is it is not certified for Windows XP 64-bit or Windows Vista 64-bit. It is however, certified for Windows XP 32-bit and Windows Vista 32-bit. With XP and Vista, 32-bit is a far more common operating system than their 64-bit counterparts. So, the drawback is not that significant. RegCure is certified for Windows 7 both 32 and 64 bit. So it is right up to date as far as this is concerned.

Why We Need to use Registry Cleaners

Wasting time is a key issue with Windows driven PC’s.  From the day they are first used, they tend to slow down.  This is due to the fact extra registry entries, or egistry corruption, tends to build up and is it does it causes the computer to waste more and more time performing unproductive operations.

How to Clean the Registry

Cleaning a registry by entering the registry via software programs such “regedit” and removing foreign entries is simply not practical.  However, a registry cleaner, also known as a registry fixer or registry repair program will take care of the job cleaning corrupt entries out of the registry.  It will do so seamlessly and quickly.  This will keep, or even restore a computer’s speed to original speed if there are no other problems with the computer..

Of course, viruses and spyware will also tend to slow down a computer.  Added software and hardware will also tend to slow down computer speed, but not that much if the proper amount of RAM is kept on board.   It should aso be noted registry corruption can also cause a computer to pop up error messages as well freeze and/or crash.

If you have a virus/spyware scanner installed on your computer and you are running at least the recommended amount of RAM, it is very likely a computer running slowly needs to have its registry cleaned.

Fix a Corrupt Registry

Registry corruption will make a computer run slowly.  Sometimes a computer affected by a substantial amount of corruption will make a PC become slow to the point will become drudgery to use.  By this, we mean it will be so slow after the mouse is clicked, the computer will just seem as if it is just sitting there totally unresponsive. 

Actually, inside the computer things are happening and they are happening at lightning speed.  The problem is registry corruption is causing the operating system to perform millions of useless and even counterproductive operations.  So, to the outside world, it looks as if the PC is waiting idly for several minutes to answer the call of the mouse click.

There is probably nothing worse than a dreadfully slow computer but if there were, a computer that freezes crashes and spits out computer error messages may be at least, just as bad!  Oddly enough, when a computer is doing these things, the culprit behind it all may well be registry corruption as well!

So, you can easily see using registry clean up software is not only wise, it really is necessary.  Though this was not the case a few years ago, changes to the way today’s operating system interpret instructions and to the vast amount of information they handle has made registry corruption a real menace to the inner workings of  the Windows OS.

Registry clean up software comes in a package we most commonly refer to as a registry cleaner.  There are several around these days, but there are just a few that can be considered reliable.  So, chose your registry cleaner wisely.

The good news is using the right registry cleaner will get and keep your computer running at top speed and free of registry errors, freezes and crashes!  So, being equipped with one is highly recommended for anyone using a PC that uses a Windows XP or newer operating system.

Older operating systems, like Windows 98, for instance also have trouble with registry corruption from time to time.  However, these earlier OS’s are not affected quite as negatively to it.  So, the bottom line is newer operating systems need to have their registries cleaned periodically in order to keep them running at full tilt.  With the older ones registry corruption occurs on more of a case by case basis.  It is for this reason many people who have been computer owners for many years were never aware of problems that can be caused by corruption in the registry.

Registry Clean Up Software

Over time, a Windows registry tends to accumulate entries which are no longer pertinent to the PC’s information flow.  This will cause the operating system to needlessly perform operations, realize they are dead-end operations and then go back to the registry to look for the next instruction. Obviously, performing such nonproductive operations are a waste of time and make a computer seem to be stalling or at least, going very slow.

Along with accumulating non-pertinent information, Windows registry entries tend to corrupt over time.  Registry entries will be read and acted upon by the operating even if they are inacurate.  This will cause it to perform more errant operations.  In other other words, the operating system doesn’t have the ability to to see registry corruption as false or unhelpful information.  It does not simply say, “this is corruption so I will ignore it.”  Instead, the operating system reads the bad registry information as if it were accurate and follows the instructions no matter how wayward they might be.  Once again, performing these types of instructions will do nothing except waste time.

Along with non-pertinent and corrupt files, Windows registry files, for a number of reasons get deleted from time to time.  Deleted registry files will make an operating system back up and perform the last operation over and over again until by chance it finds itself going in the right direction past the stumbling block of the missing registry file. 

It is easy to see, how repeating operations 100′s of times will make a computer look slow to its user.  Actually, on the inside, the computer is going as fast as ever.  However, performing all these nonproductive and useless operations make the computer operator have to wait for the proper instruction to be completed.  Sometimes this wait can be excruciatingly long!

Regular registry error cleanups repair non-pertinent and corrupt files.  Cleanups will also replace missing registry files. The end result of cleaning a Windows registry will be restoring the computer’s speed to fast.  Also, a computer that was getting computer errors will be restored to normal behavior after a good registry cleanup.

The only way to perform a registry error cleanup is to run a top notch registry cleaner.  The registry cleaner should be run periodically not only to repair the bad registry files that already exist, but as preventive medicine to keep the PC running fast and without the interuptions of freezes, errors and crashes.

Registry Error Cleanup

Windows registries need to be cleaned and repaired periodically because of the tendency a Windows registry has toward building problem with files that become  ”corrupt.”  Registry corruption simply refers to registry files that are missing, incomplete or inaccurate.

The affect registry corruption has is it will make a computer operates very slowly or cause computer errors to pop up.  Using a registry cleaner will restore the computer’s speed and put an end errors.

Registry Clean Repair

A slow running computer is such a common problem I make it a point to try to help these customers, or potential customers get their computers running at top speed again without making them bring it to me.  It the computer hasn’t become a non-functionally slow computer, I give these callers a tip before I tell them it is necessary to bring their PC to my shop.

The tip I give them is their computer may be suffering from corruption in the Windows operating system’s registry.  First, I have to find out if they have a good virus cleaner installed on their computer and if it has been updating regularly.  Some people truly won’t know this and I may not always be able to help these folks over the phone.

Most people do have a virus cleaner installed since most computers come with one already installed.  I also, have to ask them which virus cleaner it is.  Sometimes a new virus is out and some of the cleaners are not detecting it yet.  Usually, I would know this and this could be the problem.  Another thing is, some virus cleaners are just virus cleaners and spyware could sneak by them undetected.  For this reason, sometimes it is necessary to have both a virus cleaner and a spyware cleaner installed on a computer because any virus or spyware can slow down a computer.  Some of these parasites could slow down a PC a great deal.

After asking a few of these questions and being relatively sure the computer is not infested with a virus or spyware, and if it sounds like the computer is capable of running a software program, even if it does so slowly, I will suggest running a registry cleaner.

There are several things that will make a computer run slower, sometimes, much, much slower.  However, if it is a reasonable guess there is no virus or spyware on a computer that has become slow, it very often is corruption in the registry making the computer’s operating system need to work very hard to get very little done. 

When a  caller seems to be a victim of registry corruption, I will give them a website address where they can go to get a free scan.  If it turns out their registry is corrupt they can pay about $30-40 to clean the registry all they want for a year.  It has been my experience this helps just about all these types of callers to get their computers running fast again for a lot less than they would have to pay for my services.

My Computer is Running Slow

I’ve tried running other OS’s, namely Linux, but for me, it just wasn’t worth it.  The advantages to Windows far outweigh the disadvantage that I may have to deal with a slowdown now and then.  So, I happily use My Windows operating system and prepare myself for the challenge of keeping it running at top speed.

There are little things you can do to make sure your Windows Vista or XP keeps humming along.  First, when I install a new software package of any kind, I read the small print during the installation process.  Usually, as it installs, the Windows installer will ask you if you want the program to start upon start-up.  In  other words, any time you start the computer.  You should say no to this question.  Why have a program running all the time and stealing your computer’s resources when you can start any program any time you need it by going to the start menu?

Also, make sure you have enough RAM on board and make sure your virus scanner is up to date.  However, the important thing to know about Windows operating systems is their registries become corrupted over time.  This is a more common phenomenon with With Windows XP and Vista than it was with earlier versions of Windows.  Also, there are more ways a registry can become corrupt than there were even just a few years ago.

Knowing all the ways which a registry becomes corrupt is not the important thing.  Understanding that you must keep your registry from accumulating corruption is very important.  It is also important to know registry corruption slows computer processing down significantly and if corruption is let to accumulate over time it will cause errors and crashes.  Registry corruption starts by slowing down your PC.  It could, if let to run wild, ruin your operating system!

The only antidote is running a good registry cleaner from time to time.  This is the only way to guard against registry corruption and it is by far and away the best way to remove corruption that has already accumulated in the registry.  Remember, this comes from a computer technician.  I used to have to remove registry corruption manually before registry cleaners were available.  Believe me, using a registry cleaner is much easier and about a thousand times quicker!

Why is My PC Slow

There are registry cleaners who call themselves free registry cleaners.  While these programs are not truly free because they only clean a certain number of incidents of registry corruption without cost, they are also not safe.

Thee are probably 100′s of registry cleaners available today but there is only one registry cleaner I consistently recommend to my customers.  There are really only 7 or 8 of them I trust at all. 

Remember, a computer registry is a very complex and delicate piece of software.  When choosing which registry cleaner to trust your registry’s health to, make sure it is safe and that is a top ranked registry cleaner. If it is you can rest assured it will do the job thoroughly and efficiently.

Safe Registry Cleaner

In these instances, improving PC performance makes it necessary to look for other problems.  Even though virus cleaners keep most spyware under check, most virus cleaners will not detect all kinds of spyware.  Because of this, is it wise to get a free spyware scan to see if a poorly performing computer has incidents of spyware on the hard drive.

Also, it has become necessary these days to run a registry cleaner periodically.  This alone has improved the performance of countless sluggish computers.

Finally, if being virus, spyware and registry corruption free does not bring the PC to a point where its performance is very good, I would suspect a bad, outdated or misfit driver.  Tracking down such a problem used to be a mamouth task.  However, now all you have to do is run a driver scanner and this will take care of the problem automatically.

So, it logically follows the easiest way to fix computer error problems, is to be equipped with the proper computer maintenance tools.  This way you are prepared to fix any computer error and prevent many from occurring in the first place.

Fix Computer Error

One, he or she is using a free registry scan to see if there is corruption in the registry before purchasing the registry cleaner or,

Two, he or she is using a so called, free registry cleaning program which gives the user a scan and then removes a certain amount of corruption before he or she needs to pay to get the rest of the registry repaired.

Three things should be known about free registry cleaners…

1. They usually remove up to 50 incidents of corruption, which is very little before they require payment to keep them activated.
2. The price to activate them is higher than most top rated registry cleaners and,
3. From my experience at least, they are inferior registry cleaners.

So really, there is no true free registry cleaner.  You will have to pay eventually, for either an inferior one or a top ranked one!

All ligitimate highly rated registry cleaners offer a free scan to detect corruption so a potential customer can see if a purchase is warrented.

Registry Cleaner Trial

Cleaning the registry of a computer that is giving error codes is a good away to approach fixing the problem.  However, viruses and spyware can also make a computer crash and leave error codes.  So, by all means, scanning the registry with a good registry cleaner may be the answer for an error prone PC but make sure you scan for viruses and spyware first.  If you do have a spyware or virus infection, a registry scan may give you unreliable results.
