Spyware is one thing that can make your PC run slowly.  Since Spyware can steal private information about you, you
should scan for Spyware to see if any is present on your hard drive.  However, the one thing that I see that is most overlooked and is capable of slowing down a computer to the point of uselessness is registry corruption.

Since you can get a free registry scan with a top notch registry scanner to see if you have registry corruption before you purchase a registry cleaner,  I recommend doing so if your computer has lost some spring in its step.
