The first thing that may make a computer run slow is a virus.  Most computers have a virus scanner program installed.  Using a computer without one is computer infanticide.  Still, if your computer gets a virus and it doesn’t kill it altogether, it will at least, slow it down.

The second computer slower dower is spyware.  Spyware is different than viruses.  Many virus scanners will detect and elimiate many forms of spyware from a PC, but not in all of them.  If your computer is slow, at least get a free spyware scan.  You can get one at Best Antispyware.

Finally, registry corruption is very often the culprit behind a slow computer.  However, it is important you are sure you are virus and spyware free before you run a registry cleaner because if you were virus/spyware infested, the results would be misleading.  After you are virus /spyware free, get a free registry scan with a top notch registry scaner program.  You can find a great one here… registry cleaner.
