There are many more reasons a computer owner can end up with a corrupt registry than you would think. Basically, the reason is entries that are no longer valid get left behind in the registry’s files when software is removed. When software is upgraded, technically, the old version is removed and so, registry corruption is created when software is upgraded as well.

Bear in mind, drivers are software and many times drivers are upgraded automatically. Once again registry corruption is left behind. Temporary Internet files are a type of instruction sets, which are also software, these are constantly being deleted. So, if drivers, applications or software were never removed from our computers and we never surfed the net, we would probably never get a corrupt registry and we would never need to clean it.

However, one thing that often gets overlooked is the fact spyware and malware are types of software and they hopefully, are being detected and removed from our computers instead of being left to live on our hard drives!. So, this is one more reason our registries become corrupt. Really, there is no way to avoid registry corruption these days! All we can do is clean out this corruption with a good registry cleaner every week or so. photo credit: Plat
