Such programs always came installed on Windows operating system but there were other third party programs claiming to do the same thing only better.  These programs cleaned the hard drive, but not the registry.

Windows registry cleanup software or registry cleaning software scans the Windows operating system’s registry locating incidents of missing and corrupt registry files as it does.  Once it locates this “registry corruption,” it repairs and replaces all the problem files.

It is noteworthy all Windows operating systems have registries, even the very early ones and yes, Windows 7 has a registry as well.  It is also noteworthy that there many registry cleaners around these days that are not at all helpful and may actually even be dangerous to your computer!   However, using a good registry cleaner is necessary simply because keeping corruption out your computer’s registry is necessary.  Here is why:

Registry corruption will cause a computer to slow down,  There are occasions where this corruption will slow the computer down to such a degree it will be impossible or next to impossible to use.  Registry corruption will also sometimes, cause computer errors and on some occasions will make a computer freeze up or crash altogether.

So, for the small expense a registry cleanup program incurs, it is well worth it to use one to prevent these things from happening  and repair the damage that has already been done.  Repairing this damage will get your computer back to its top speed and put an end to the errors, crashes and etc. 

The point is only a good registry cleaner will do the job right.  There are those on the market that will not.  So, only buy the best.  Frankly, out of the multitude of registry cleaning software programs available today, there are only a few I would trust!

The good news is; you can relax if your computer is free of registry corruption because since most computers already have spyware and virus protection installed on them, you can be sure your PC will be at its best when you have a registry cleaner working along side your spyware/virus protection!

Of course, if you don’t have virus/spyware protection for some reason, that changes he scenario.  A virus or spyware will steal your computers resources and cause your computer to slow down and and operate poorly in a wide variety of ways.

Registry cleaners are needed because these inaccurate, incomplete and missing files are a constant threat to a Windows registry.  The effect they have on a computer whose registry they are infecting is to slow it down and worse!  These bad and missing files are also known as registry corruption.  Registry corruption has the potential to destroy a computers performance.  Because it makes the operating system work to sort out the corruption from the good entries, it is in effect making the computer do twice as much work.

Also, as the computer is sorting through registry corruption, it actually performs some errant instructions. 
 Performing these things that have no purpose, as you might expect is a waste of time and so this further acts to cause a computer to run slowly.  Beside that fact is the fact this will sometimes cause the computer to commit errors.  The user will see this as error pop up messages in a wide variety of different numbers including but limited to the r6025 error.

Still, overcoming these errors and computer slowing down troubles is not insurmountable.  Running a Windows registry cleaner, which is actually a Windows registrty checker/cleaner, will repair these damaged files and restore the missing ones.  This in-turn will revert the registry to its original clean condition.  This will stop the computer from committing errors and return it to its original fast self.  It is too bad we have to take the extra step of employing the services of a registry cleaner in order to keep our computes fast these days, but this is just a fact of life for we PC users.

Actually, some of the so called free registry cleaners are more expensive than the best registry cleaners available. 
These types of registry cleaners advertise they are free because they will in fact, clean 30 incidents of registry corruption.

Since most registries that are scanned for the first time have more than 100 incidents of corruption and since all registry cleaners will give you a free scan so you can see if there is corruption in the registry, free registry cleaners are no big deal at best.  Certainly, they are an inferior product.

The truth is using a free registry cleaning tool on your computer could be a costly mistake because it may not properly clean the registry and this could end up causing trouble with your PC.  The bottom line is free isn’t always free even they swear it’s free!
